Steffen Klusmann, Editor-in-Chief, Financial Times Deutschland, Germany
Steffen Klusmann was born in 1966 in Karlsruhe.
After studying economics in Mainz, Glasgow and
Hamburg, he successfully attended the
Holtzbrinck school of Journalism in Dusseldorf. His
next stop was the business weekly
“Wirtschaftswoche“, where he worked as economy
and politics correspondent. In 1996, he then
moved on to the monthly “manager magazin“,
dealing mainly with economic policy and technology
trends. In 1999, the Financial Times Deutschland
hired Klusmann. He helped develop the
newspaper, which was launched in February 2000.
Klusmann then became features editor, in charge
of background stories, comments and editorials as
well as feature stories. He then moved on to
become the FTD’s news editor. In July 2003,
Steffen Klusmann returned to the “manager
magazin“ as vice editor-in-chief. In 2004, Steffen
Klusmann joined the Financial Times Deutschland
again, this time as editor-in-chief.
