H.E. Prof. Xu Kuangdi, Vice Chairman, CPPCC, President, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chairman of CFIE, P.R. China
Born in 1937 and a graduate of the Beijing Institute
of Iron and Steel Technology, Prof. Xu has
lectured in a number of renowned universities in
China. He worked as Deputy Chief Engineer and
Technical Manager in Scandinavian Lance Corporation,
Sweden. Prof. Xu served as Director
General of Shanghai Higher Education Bureau,
Director General of the Shanghai Municipal
Planning Commission, vice Mayor and Mayor of
Shanghai. He was elected Academician of CAE in
1995 and has served as its President since 2002.
Prof. Xu was elected vice Chairman of CPPCC in
2003 and Chairman of CFIE in November 2003.
