Dr. Werner Marnette, Chairman of the Board, Norddeutsche Affinerie AG, Germany

Dr. Werner Marnette was born in 1945. After studying Non-ferrous Metallurgy/Electrometallurgy and obtaining his doctorate, he commenced his professional career as production assistant at Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (NA), where he subsequently has held numerous executive positions. In 1994, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board and, additionally, in 1997, Director of Labour Affairs. Besides his positions at NA, Dr. Marnette was member, president and member of the supervisory board of various national and European associations and of Hamburgische Landesbank. Since 2001, he is a member of the Hamburg Stock Exchange Council and Listing Tribunal, was elected Chairman of the Energy Board of the Federation of German Industries, and Vice President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Since 2002, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of Leoni AG, and since 2004 Chairman of the Advisory Board of HSH Nordbank AG.
