Xie Qihua, Chairwoman, Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, Chairperson of Presidium, CFIE, P.R. China
A graduate of Tsinghua University, Ms. Xie is
professor, senior engineer and supervisor of doctoral
students. She joined the Baosteel Group in
1978, where she has held a number of senior
posts. At present, Ms. Xie is Chairwoman of
Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation. Ms. Xie is
also Chairwoman of the Baoshan Iron & Steel
Group. She has won a number of prestigious
awards, including the “Outstanding Entrepreneur
of Shanghai” award, “Outstanding Female Entrepreneur
of China” award and “CCTV Person of the
Chinese Economy 2002”. In 2002 and 2003, Xie
was acclaimed as one of the fifty most influential
female entrepreneurs worldwide. She also serves
as CFIE Presidium Chairwoman. In 2005 she was
appointed Chairwoman of China Iron and Steel
Association.
