Dr. Margot Schüller, Deputy Director, GIGA - Institute of Asian Affairs, Germany
Dr. Margot Schüller is Deputy Director and Senior
Economist of the Institute of Asian Affairs/GIGA
(German Institute of Global and Area Studies)
in Hamburg. Since more than two decades she
closely follows China’s economic development.
Her work covers numerous publications on
economic transition, incl. topics such as global
economic integration and China’s regional
economic cooperation. Dr. Schüller is a member of
the faculty and program co-director of the
international study program MIBE (Master of
International Business and Economics, China
Focus), co-organised by the Department of Economics
and Business Administration/University of
Hamburg, the School of Management/Fudan
University and the Institute of Asian Affairs.
Her membership in the Research Committee on
Economic Systems and Institutional Economics of
the German Economic Association also reflects
her strong academic background. In addition, she
is a frequent consulter for governmental and
private institutions.
