H.E. A. Selverajah, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Federal Republic of Germany
Mr. Selverajah was born in Johore, Malaysia, in
1953. He graduated in History from the National
University of Singapore and obtained a Master of
International Affairs from the School of International
and Public Affairs, Columbia University, New
York. Mr. Selverajah joined the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in 1979 serving as First Secretary, and later
as Counsellor at the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok,
and as Deputy Director and later as Director of
Policy, Planning and Analysis Directorate II (North
America and Europe) in the Ministry. He was
Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission at
the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C. On his
return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997, he
became Director of Policy, Planning and Analysis
Directorate II (NA and Europe). From 1999 to 2003,
Mr. Selverajah was Singapore’s Ambassador to
Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the
Holy See. He was awarded the Public Administration
(Silver) Medal in 2000 and the decoration of the
Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Gregory by Pope
John Paul II in 2002.
