Montblanc – Soulmakers for 100 Years
Montblanc and the world-famous Meisterstück have represented the very best in writing instruments for generations now – handcrafted by true master craftsmen. In recent years, the product range has been expanded to include Swiss watches and luxury leather goods, including belts, as well as female jewellery products, accessories, eyewear and fragrances. Thus, Montblanc has become a purveyor of exclusive products which reflect today’s high demand for product excellence, timeless design and traditional master craftsmanship.
The Montblanc logo symbolises the snow-covered peak of the highest European mountain. On the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary this year, Montblanc has created a patented diamond cut that represents and celebrates the brand signet in a radiant, three-dimensional form. These 42 faceted diamonds embellish all products of the 100 Years Collection. 4810, the number on the nib of every Meisterstück Fountain Pen, stands for the height of the Mont Blanc massif.
Montblanc is represented in more than 70 countries. Most recently, Montblanc opended its own subsidiary in China in September 2005, where Montblanc already has been represented by distributors for more than 10 years. Within one year, Montblanc Commercial (China) Co. Ltd now has set up more than 50 boutiques and belongs to one of the most famous and successful diversified luxury brands in the marketplace.
Montblanc’s social and cultural commitment in China is demonstrated in a variety of ways: With the Montblanc Excellence Award for Outstanding Student Achievement, a cooperation between the Fudan University Shanghai and the University of Hamburg set up in 2005, Montblanc has been supporting the future leaders of Asian-European business relations: the elite of tomorrow. In early 2006, Montblanc celebrated its local Chinese Centenary Gala with 5,000 celebrity guests in Shanghai.
In June, Mr Handel Ching Han Lee was honoured with the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award for his personal engagement and support of the Chinese contemporary arts. This award has been one of the highlights of the cultural scene of Shanghai for five years now.
In October 2006, Montblanc will establish the new Prix Montblanc, an award honouring outstanding young classical musicians as part of the “Montblanc Friendship Tour China 2006“ in Bejing.
