The Hamburg Summit 2008

The third “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe” took place at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce from 10 to 12 September 2008.

The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is the initiator and organizer of “The Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe”, which with its second edition in 2006 has become a premier platform for corporate figureheads and public leaders dedicated to improving the economic, political and cultural relationship between China and Europe.

The entire concept of the “Hamburg Summit”, which is hold in Hamburg every two years, aims to foster the ongoing dialog on topics of mutual interests among international leaders focusing on the Sino-European relationship. Besides political and economical key speeches given by outstanding personalities the conference provides expert panels discussing economical issues.

According to the participants, the conference has been a considerable success. Thanks to the international acknowledgement achieved, the “Hamburg Summit” has already established a tradition, which the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce intends to preserve.
