Montblanc

For more than one hundred years, the name Montblanc has been synonymous as the art of writing, with its distinctive star referencing the peak of the Mont Blanc mountain – a symbol of the highest quality of its products.

Montblanc has been known for generations as master craftsmen that create sophisticated, precious writing instruments. In the last two decades, the product range has expanded to watches, luxury leather goods, jewelry, eyewear and other accessories. Montblanc is a purveyor of exclusive products created for the exacting demands of today and is renown for its timeless design, traditional values and outstanding quality. Montblanc internationally operates in more than 70 countries selling exclusively through its network of authorized retailers, jewelers and in over 360 Montblanc boutiques.

Montblanc commenced business within China in 1992 and established its own subsidiary in 2005. China became the largest market for Montblanc in 2008 and this fact continues to today. Total boutiques in China number 92, with 42 boutiques wholly owned.

Montblanc’s social and cultural commitment in China is demonstrated in a variety of ways: on May 27th, 2010 Montblanc has awarded Mei Bao Jiu in Beijing with the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award (MBdLC) for China honouring his exceptional contribution to the continuing tradition and education in classic Beijing Opera. The MBdLC award has well received by the arts community and has received extensive press coverage.

Montblanc has sponsored an eye hospital in Pu Cheng, Shaanxi so that rural dwellers may receive cataract operations and retain vision. In addition to donating to the Sichuan earthquake fund in 2008, Montblanc cooperated with The One Foundation. Other initiatives included working with Fudan University on their joint MBA program. This continuous social and cultural engagement of Montblanc has been recognized with the Best Social Responsibility Award presented to Montblanc in June 2009 by The Bund magazine, Shanghai.

With its headquarters based in Hamburg, Montblanc is proud to be an active supporter of the 2010 Hamburg Summit thus contributing to economic, political and cultural bridge-building from China to Europe and vice versa.
