The „Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe“ takes place in the old and prestigious building of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The official conference hotel is the famous “Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg”.  

Hamburg Chamber of Commerce

The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce building is located in the city centre of Hamburg opposite the City Hall. The building was formerly used as the Hamburg Stock Exchange, which was opened in 1841. The building hosts also a small exhibition of models of convoy vessels from the 17th century. The protection of Hamburg’s merchants through such ships was the purpose for the foundation of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in 1665.

Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg

The Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg is the official conference hotel of the “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe”. Opened in 1909 as a Grand Hotel for the first-class passengers of famous ocean liners, it is more than a hotel and reflects its relevance for the social life of the Hanseatic city. Located in the city centre of Hamburg the hotel offers a great view on the lake Alster. The rooms and suites were fully refurbished in 2011.
